And while the Desperate Housewives star certainly drew plenty of attention at Matthew Williamson’s runway show, it was for all the wrong reasons.

The actress plumped for a technicolour coat that featured a rather garish mixture of burnt orange, brown and turquoise.
It was a surprising and dowdy choice for the 33-year-old, who is usually a picture of sass and sophistication in her customary little party frocks. The star was attending the catwalk show for celebrated British designer’s latest collection.

Williamson counts Sienna Miller and Cheryl Cole among his many celebrity friends and he even designed several of Cheryl’s dresses for her appearances on the X Factor.

Eva managed to bag a front row seat as the models steamed down the runway and looked to enjoy with her coveted position.Amongst his designs, he experiment with fur, pairing one coat with maroon leather skinny-leg pants that had snakeskin trim.

Eva attended the event following a trip to Phoenix for NBA’s All-Star weekend.

Earlier in the day she had enjoyed lunch out in New York before arriving to the show.

She recently revealed she is sad about news her co-star Nicollette Sheridan will be leaving Desperate Housewives.

She said: ‘I love her so much as a person, and I love the character of Edie Britt, that I can’t imagine the show without her.’

Swarovski CRYSTALLIZED is delighted to announce an exciting new collaboration with award-winning Delhi-based designer Manish Arora. This scintillating partnership sees India’s best-loved and most prolific design talent creating a special collection of sparkling motifs to be made available from June 2009 exclusively on T-shirts at Swarovski CRYSTALLIZED stores in London, New York, Shanghai and Austria. Arora has also conjured a complementary assortment of crystal transfer motifs to be sold loose at the same stores – a dazzling selection guaranteed to enthrall.

Celebrated for his vivid use of colour in designs that combine contemporary silhouettes with traditional handcrafted techniques, Manish Arora has gained worldwide recognition since launching his eponymous label in 1997. The designer, who first showed at London Fashion Week in 2005 and debuted in Paris to great acclaim in 2007, has worked creatively with Swarovski since the launch of his international career, incorporating CRYSTALLIZED – Swarovski Elements into all his major collections. In June 2009 that collaboration gains added momentum with the introduction of a range of bejeweled transfer motifs inspired by Hindu symbolism and designed by Arora exclusively for Swarovski CRYSTALLIZED.

Three mesmerizing T-shirts sport ultra-luxurious crystal motifs, including a beautiful depiction of Lakshmi, the goddess of beauty and luck and bringer of wealth and spiritual well-being; an ornate interpretation of Ganesh, the elephant god and lord of beginnings, change, wisdom and learning; and a glittering rendition of Nandi the bull, signifier of calm, gentleness and nourishment. Alongside the T-shirt designs are several additional sparkling transfer motifs which again draw on Indian spirituality. These can be applied to most fabrics, providing unlimited possibilities for adding glitter and glamour to any wardrobe. The super-chic T-shirts are priced at GBP 125, while the loose crystal transfer motifs start from GBP 25.

Tapping into the growing trend for individualization, Swarovski CRYSTALLIZED launched its innovative flagship London store in January 2008, bringing an extensive selection of ready-to-wear and customizable jewellery – as well as limited-edition designer collections, all made with CRYSTALLIZED – Swarovski Elements – under one roof. With roll-outs well-advanced for Shanghai and New York, and an additional store already open at Swarovski Kristallwelten in Austria, Swarovski CRYSTALLIZED is destined to wow consumers around the globe with the fruits of its latest creative partnership.

Manish Arora and Swarovski CRYSTALLIZED – two unique forces on the couture stage – together conjure a fantastical and distinctive vision: glorious designs blending light-filled CRYSTALLIZED – Swarovski Elements, high art and pop culture to offer women a taste of the exotic.

Not for nothing India is known as the land of unity in diversity. Indian fashion is one of the best examples of this ages old adage. Indian clothes are truly versatile. The credit must go to diverse culture and regional landscape of India. But the blending of India-ness can be truly seen in the clothes that we wear. For example, Salwar Kameez is basically a dress of Muslims and Punjabis but see how seamlessly it has integrated with other forms of clothing in the rest of India. What was used to be a dress of particular part of India can now be seen in other parts as well.

Variety has emerged as the key word. Shrinking geographical differences and tremendously enhanced communication has contributed in raising awareness of number of dresses. Now people don’t blink even once before trying a new cloth. More, the merrier has become the norm. Indian men and women have started to experiment with emerging trends in Indian clothing. Take for example, Sari and how it is being experimented with different sort of embroidery and designs.

Embellishments are being tried and accessories to being used to adorn the clothes. But the soul of the cloth remains Indian. Designers are attuned to fashion events and changes taking place in world and they don’t feel shy in attempting new designs. Most of the rural dresses have already traveled to modern parts of Indian and few even to abroad. Sari is not merely a traditional Indian dress rather it is a statement now. A little bit of imagination and few tweaks and things are looking entirely different. As the present is looking so exciting, future definitely holds lots of promises for Indian fashion.

Aamir taking charge of the multiplex row, invited actors Saif, Salman, SRK, Akki and Hrithik to join him and only SRK was available to lend him his support.

A source says, “The principled man that he is, Aamir is reported to have told Shah Rukh that since they have a few unresolved personal issues, he would not go to Mannat. ‘And let’s not meet at my home, either, let’s meet on neutral ground,’ Aamir is said to have added.
“Shah Rukh was happy to let Aamir lead because he knew Aamir had already had a few meetings, and was more updated on the issue.”

“SRK, who is blessed with the gift of the gab, was truly a treat to hear.’’

“With Aamir around, I have to eat something extra sweet.’’ At which Aamir laughed. Next, when Aamir went to find a toilet and came back (thrice) complaining to Karan that all the toilets were occupied, Shah Rukh teased him saying, “Arre, what’s with you? Do you want to pee in every toilet in Karan’s house?’’

Then SRK asked for tips on how to quit smoking from Aamir, “How did you manage to give up,’’ he enquired from Aamir. “I’m trying real hard but I haven’t succeeded.’’

Mumbai: From the very day she entered Bollywood, Deepika Padukone has been associated with someone or the other. First, she helped to give the much needed hype and glamour touch to the IPL cricket league, when she was allegedly paired with both Mahengra Singh Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh and her relation with both the cricketing stars became the talk of the town. These are things of the past now. Currently people are speculating about Ranbir Deepika marriage.

And just before the release of Bachna E Haseeno, Deepika was also linked with her co-star in the film, Ranbir Kapoor. Though, initially many felt that the rumour of Deepika-Ranbir love affair was created and hyped both to help the Yashraj Banner and Ranbir Kapoor, as both needed a hit desperately, the closeness between the two made everyone believe that both were serious about each other and there was something between the two.

But, now it seems Deepika is going to get the taste of her own medicine. It may come as a surprise to everyone, including those in the gossip world, but putting all speculations to rest, Ranbir has now said that he has no plans to settle down in the near future.

When asked about this, Ranbir said, “Marriage! Come on. I don’t have any marriage plans in near future. Marriage is no where on my mind.”

He adds, “Right now I am only concerned about my career and with a few films of mine due to release in near future, I am quite satisfied with my life at present and don’t want to disturb it with marriage.”

Contrary to the rumours of a possible marital knot, gossip has it that Ranbir Kapoor is not planning about settling down with Deepika Padukone in near future.

The 40-foot-long Tiger Fashion Safari Bus was flagged off on March 17 by designer Tarun Tahiliani and truly gave travelling in style an all-new meaning.

In keeping with its endeavour to share ‘Tiger Time’ experiences with its consumers, Tiger Beer had also created a trendy Tiger Lounge on the premises of the Delhi Fashion Week. The trendy design theme and relaxed ambience made the Tiger Lounge a perfect setting for fashionistas to meet and catch up over drinks or just take a breather in between the hectic show schedules.

Speaking about the association, Ashwin Deo, CEO, South Asia, Asia Pacific Breweries, said, “At Tiger Beer, it is our constant attempt to shift the paradigms that define ‘cool’. Ever since the brand was launched in India, Tiger Beer has placed great emphasis on creating engagement experiences that are unique and audacious at the same time. As a young, edgy brand that is unafraid to experiment and innovate, Tiger Beer is deeply committed to augmenting lifestyle experiences. In the Delhi Fashion Week, we have found a partner that reflects our ideologies and presents us with a platform to give an all-new meaning to being trendy.”

Term it excess in times of a global economic slump, but two parallel events - the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week (WIFW) and the Delhi Fashion Week (DFW) - are again set for a head-to-head clash for their autumn/winter editions later this week. Organised by the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI), the 12th edition of WIFW will be held during March 18-23 at Eros Intercontinental hotel while the Fashion Foundation of India’s second DFW showing is scheduled for March 19-24 at the swish Emporio mall.

Unlike last year, when WIFW attracted a whopping 160 buyers, the presence of both domestic and international buyers this time around is predicted to be lower.

‘I do not want to lie about the fact: this time there will be fewer buyers compared to last time. But we are hopeful that our designers will lure all of them with their talent, skills and creativity,’ FDCI president Sunil Sethi told IANS.

Compared to last year’s spring-summer edition when it had 10 commercial partners and 79 designers, WIFW has managed to attract three new partners and established designers like Anamika Khanna, Raghavendra Rathore, Rocky S, Manish Malhotra, Priyadarshani Rao, Puja Nayyar and many more.

Both the events will also have additional Main Show Areas (MSAs).

While WIFW will have a third MSA at the pool side, DFW will have a second one inside the Emporio mall for select audiences.

‘The third ramp is named the ‘Talent Pool’ where young designers will each showcase 10 garments. We’ve created a special ramp over the pool for this,’ Sethi explained.

According to DFW head Sumeet Nair, the second MSA will be for ‘Salon Shows’.

‘Some designers expressed the desire to showcase an edited version comprising 20-30 garments of their pret (ready-to-wear) collection to only buyers and editors and therefore we decided to do salon shows. These shows will be in keeping with the international format of the event,’ Nair explained.

A normal fashion show can include up to 80 garments.

As in the past, the Bollywood quotient is expected to be high at both the events, with WIFW keeping its cards close to its chest, saying only that the celebrity factor could be evident at the shows of Mumbai-based designers Rocky S, Manish Malhotra and Shane and Falguni Peacock.

Though Sethi declined to reveal names, he said: ‘Fashion and glamour go hand in hand; so just wait and watch’.

AS for DFW, there is talk of Bollywood beauties Deepika Padukone, Shilpa Shetty and Katrina Kaif sashaying down the ramp for designer Tarun Tahiliani.

This year, flower retail chain Ferns’N’Petals has been roped in as the decor and infrastructure partner for DFW.

As for WIFW, other than the title sponsor Wills Lifestyle, the other brands associated with the event this time around as associated sponsors are Fiama Di Wills, Hewlett Packard, Chivas, Audi, Elle, NDTV Good Times, Big FM, Intercontinental Eros, Yahoo, Kingfisher, Power Plate and FedEx.
